Walk for Freedom

Nebraska Spring Game – april 22, 2023

we're in it to end it!

Last year, we came together before the Nebraska spring game to create awareness that sex trafficking exists where we live.

The weather was great, the turnout was greater, and the impact was the greatest of them all… so we’ve decided to do it again!

Join us on April 22nd before the spring game as we walk among crowds of fans around Lincoln. Help us increase awareness and inspire fellow Nebraskans to join our fight against this injustice.

Registration is $15 and includes a Walk T-Shirt!

about our walk

APRIL 15 – T-SHIRT PICKUP

11 AM – 2 PM: Stop by The Mill at Telegraph (located at 330 S 21st Street) to pick up your walk T-shirt and materials.

APRIL 22 – WALK FOR FREEDOM

11:00 AM: Meet our team at the Broyhill Fountain outside of the Nebraska Student Union (located at 14th and R Streets).

Then we will disperse around Lincoln where the most  Husker fans gather –– whether it’s Memorial Stadium, the Haymarket, O Street, etc.

We believe we create greater impact when we split up, so we will NOT be walking as one big group. You can walk around Lincoln on your own or with a small group of friends, family, coworkers or other walkers!

  • You will be provided with awareness cards about trafficking in Nebraska to pass out to people if you feel comfortable doing so.
  • If you do not feel comfortable passing out cards, simply walk around Husker crowds wearing your walk T-shirt –– it will send the message for you.
  • If you already have plans to tailgate… wear your T-shirt at the party! If you want to grab a drink or a bite to eat… wear your T-shirt at the restaurant! If you have tickets to the game… wear your T-shirt in the stadium!
12:30 PM: The walk concludes, just in time for kickoff!

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Our organization is making a concentrated effort to prepare for our Connect to Protect Conference in August, so we decided to modify this year’s Walk for Freedom. We will NOT meet up for pizza and refreshments after the walk like we have in previous years. We hope you understand this temporary adjustment!
