When we think about sex trafficking, we often think about it as happening in other countries. People are shocked when they find out it happens right in front of us, here in Nebraska. It happens in our schools, along the interstate, in our communities, our neighborhoods.
Girls often enter the sex market through the coercion of a facilitator or pimp actively recruiting them. They manipulate and threaten them and “break them in” to the industry. The average age of a child entering the commercial sex market is 13.

Clair, a single mother of two, facing eviction because her
current job couldn’t pay the bills, became desperate. She

Fearing she and her children would become homeless she
decided to advertise online to sell herself.
Unknowingly, her first client was with an undercover. After
pleading her situation, rather than arresting her, the officer

Through the partnerships with local police, a local church,
and our Street Outreach Director, Clair experienced the
