I've Got A Name

Every month nearly 1,000  girls are SOLD for sex, often multiple times, in Nebraska.

When we think about sex trafficking, we often think about it as happening in other countries. People are shocked when they find out it happens right in front of us, here in Nebraska. It happens in our schools, along the interstate, in our communities, our  neighborhoods.

Girls often enter the sex market through the coercion of a facilitator or pimp actively recruiting them. They manipulate and threaten them and “break them in” to the industry. The average age of a child entering the commercial sex market is 13.

My name is Clair, and I am a thankful survivor.

Clair, a single mother of two, facing eviction because her current job couldn’t pay the bills, became desperate. She saw no hope
Fearing she and her children would become homeless she decided to advertise online to sell herself.
Unknowingly, her first client was with an undercover. After pleading her situation, rather than arresting her, the officer referred Claire to I’ve Got a Name.
Through the partnerships with local police, a local church, and our Street Outreach Director, Clair experienced the assistance she never imagined possible.
Today, Clair, back on solid ground can focus on a better future, for herself and her children making her
Forever Grateful.
