OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – 29 year-old Kevin Wilson has been arrested for allegedly running a sex trafficking operation out of the America’s Best Value Inn on Grover Street just off I-80. His alleged victim is a 15 year-old runaway girl.
Omaha Police won’t release Wilson’s mugshot because this case is still under investigation. However, WOWT 6 News has obtained search warrant affidavits detailing Wilson’s alleged role selling the teenage runaway for sex.
The girl told investigators Wilson had a room reserved exclusively for sex trafficking at the America’s Best Value Inn. In legal documents, she outlined several sexual encounters. One instance involved having sex with an unknown man in exchange for “an 8 ball of meth.”
The girl also claimed Wilson arranged for her to commit sexual acts “in exchange for rent, money and drugs…” and she was paid “different amounts for different acts.” Oral sex was worth “$100 or the drug equivalent.” Sexual intercourse was worth more. The girl said whatever she earned, she would “turn over to Wilson.”
Omaha Police took the 15 year-old runaway to Project Harmony for help. Colleen Routh, Project Harmony’s Senior Director for Response Services, told WOWT 6 News predators often target runaways. She said: “They get out there in a situation where they can’t provide on their own so they’re often looking for food, shelter. It makes them vulnerable to a predator.”
The Douglas County Attorney’s Office declined to comment on this case until after Kevin Wilson’s preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for July 24.
WOWT 6 News has learned after Wilson was arrested, his bond was set at $750,000.
